WELCOME to Okinawa te Karate NZHQ website

We teach traditional Okinawa Te Karate at our Christchurch dojo. Our leading instructor is Sensei John Flavel who is rated the undisputed leading authority on the Okinawa-Te karate organisation system in New Zealand and in 1995 John was appointed New Zealands National Chief Instructor by the systems Grand Master Shihan Doversola. Karate means 'empty hands' and implies self-defence without weapons and is suitable for all age groups to learn.

Big well done to the following students whole all performed really well at the grading on the weekend. All the Sensei's were very impressed by the work and practise that obviously has gone into all grading techniques. Excellent work to all Christchurch students this month.
